Westborough MS Safety Plan
At Westborough Middle School, the safety of our students, staff, and families is our top priority. Our Safety Plan outlines the rules, expectations, and procedures that help us maintain a secure learning environment every day. From reporting concerns and practicing emergency drills to following clear procedures during an actual emergency, we are committed to working together to keep our school community safe and prepared.

Reporting Concerns
Everyone plays a role in keeping our school safe. Students, staff, and families are encouraged to report any safety concerns or rule violations right away—whether directly to staff or through an anonymous report.
Emergency Preparedness
Westborough Middle School takes proactive steps to prepare for emergencies. Families complete an emergency form each year, and the School Site Council reviews and adopts our safety plan annually. Students and staff participate in regular fire, earthquake, and other drills. In addition, the school follows the Big Five emergency response framework to ensure clear communication, coordinated action, and the safety of everyone on campus during an emergency.
Learn more about the Big Five
We use the Big 5 framework to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies. It is a common emergency plan adopted by all San Mateo County school districts and law enforcement agencies. In the event of an emergency, clear procedures are in place to keep students safe until they can be reunited with their families. Adults must present valid ID at pick-up, and in the case of an evacuation, Westborough’s designated meeting point is the fire station on Galway, next to Westborough Park.
