Homework

One of the most important ways to help your child succeed is to monitor their progress in each class, especially with regard to any assigned homework and tests.

Homework is assigned daily in most core classes, and students should expect 15-30 minutes of homework from each class. This equates to one to one-and-a-half hours of homework per night. There are several ways to check what work and tests have been assigned to your child.

Student Planners/Agendas- 6th Grade

6th grade students are issued a student planner each year, courtesy of the PTSA, in which daily assignments are written. Please encourage your child to use this organizational tool and check it daily to help monitor their work. Each teacher writes and updates homework assignments on their classroom white board daily.

Google Classroom- 6th-8th

There are many teachers who also post their homework and tests online through Google Classroom. Parents can check their student's Google Classroom account (using your child's Gmail account and teacher course code) to monitor grades and work.

Please note that Google Classroom is updated at different frequencies by each teacher and should be used as a tool in addition to student planners. If you or your child notice a grade that seems inaccurate, please contact the teacher as soon as possible. Please contact your child's counselor for help with Google Classroom.
