Wildcat Weekly Update, Week 11, Fall 2024

We hope your Wildcat(s) are having a great year so far! If you have any concerns or would like feedback on your student’s progress, we encourage you to schedule a conference with their teacher(s).

New This Week:

South San Francisco High School’s Drama Club is Hosting a Haunted House 

Date: Wednesday, October 25th
Time: 5:30 pm

Enjoy some spooky fun with the SSFH Drama Club. Tickets are $5 for general admissions and 3 for students and staff. 

 

WMS Meet the Band Mini Concert

Date: Wednesday, October 23rd
Time: 5:15 PM (MUR)
Come enjoy a Mini Band Concert! A $5 donation is recommended and will directly support the WMS Band program.

 

El Camino High School’s Fall Festival

Date: Saturday, October 26th
Time: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Location: El Camino High School parking lot

Enjoy food trucks, performances, carnival games, costume contests, and a trunk-or-treat for everyone! Game tickets: $3 for 5 tickets | $5 for 10 tickets | $20 for 25 tickets (Redeemable at the prize booth.

 

Halloween Day Expectations

For students celebrating, costumes are welcome on October 31st. Please review the following guidelines:

  • Costumes must follow the school dress code.
  • No fake weapons (e.g., guns, knives).
  • No masks or excessive face makeup.
  • No packets of fake blood or vomit.
  • Large inflatable costumes (e.g., Pikachu, dinosaurs) are not allowed.
  • Please avoid sending students with large amounts of candy—it will be confiscated.

Note: Students not following these expectations will face corrective measures.

WMS PTSA Membership Drive

Now is the perfect time to join the PTSA! The membership drive runs until November 13th (the next PTSA meeting). The class with the highest participation will receive $100 towards class funds. Support your students and school by joining through Totem! [Link to flyer]

 

Yearbooks 2025

It’s time to purchase your 2025 WMS Yearbook! This student-produced yearbook will feature hundreds of color photos from the 2024-25 school year. Order yours for $40 before prices increase on January 1st, 2025: [Order here].

Serramonte’s Earning for Learning Program
Help earn funds for WMS PTSA by shopping at Serramonte stores and restaurants. We are currently 7th out of 14 schools! The contest runs through March 31, 2025.

  • All receipts from Serramonte stores (including curbside purchases) count—except Verizon.
  • Submit receipts in 3 ways:
    1. Drop off at the school office
    2. Submit online ([MarketingGuru.com/Receipts])
    3. Take them to Serramonte’s information booth for stamping

Academic Center

The Academic Center offers free tutoring in a quiet environment after school on:

  • Mondays, some Tuesdays, and Thursdays, from 3:25 – 4:25 PM

Note: Students must remain on campus. If they leave (e.g., to go to 7/11), they cannot return to the center.

Collaboration Days Reminder: Students are released at 1:50 PM every Wednesday unless otherwise noted. Plan accordingly.

 

 

Free Meal Distribution

SSFUSD continues to offer students one free breakfast and one free lunch daily. Please complete an application to help maintain funding for this program.
