okay we are recording thank you everyone so once again if you're coming in if you can remain you did and just rename yourself if you like we will have a chance for questions and then also cheating at the enzyme Lorraine Massey to Campos welcome I'm the proud principal Westboro and we're excited to have you with us this evening so let's get into it welcome to middle school or welcome. the middle school is extremely exciting fast-paced I'm in your child development lots of growth in a short. Of time they have a lot more than navigate when they come onto our campus there's going to be 488 students next year's with the projection looks like they got multiple teachers they're switching classes they're going to have double or triple the amount of students in their classes that they're in their environment just in the sixth grade alone let alone navigate companies graders on campus and then there's all sorts of different opportunities like our readership and ASP where they get involved in creating events and and difference in a movie nights and things for each other fundraisers or band and there's opportunity for them to kind of hang out as a group as well so they come to life very quickly their little shy in the beginning but they find their own in September and in October pretty quickly one thing you'll see it at the academic rigor our focus on organizing them and helping them advance in their executive functioning and also you know the grid trying to help them recover and learn from their mistakes and persevere is a big focus in Middle School something that is true and those you don't have middle schoolers already as you know it's a good time for them to make mistakes if they have to die before they get to high school and the expectations and the consequences are even more severe the one big difference between elementary and middle that you'll notice is that student crave interaction with peers and adults that are not their parents or their close relatives they're speaking at Independence and that's because they're really trying to figure out who they are there tiny late that that's important to them to feel connected like they have a connection to someone understand what relatability is and they all kind of pushed through other like they will start off here and then a month or two later but no I'm not like you and the end up somewhere else that's a very normal we work with our students often times will come in with a close-knit group from elementary and then you know the few months in there like I have different friends or not friends with them anymore I can be really challenging but we expect that I we we support them through it all social emotional growth is a big piece of middle school and they really are starting to understand who they are and who they are not do a lot of how we respond to them especially when they make mistakes either in terms of behavior or academics used to restore two processes and please know that especially this core team your two councillors the assistant principal of myself we are here to help and of course the teachers but we are so excited to be working with you students next year and your families and we welcome the challenge the excitement and everything that makes up Middle School all right give me a few things to know about Westborough we currently do have about 488 students were not projected to grow much we're lucky to be maintaining our office is open from 8 to 4 everyday that you'll be able to get most things done that way otherwise email or phone calls are perfectly acceptable ways of doing business as well we do not have much morning and after-school supervision these days. Please know that we do have teachers and staff at support officially 10 minutes before and after 10 minutes after and so there is a little bit of risk in terms of just when students are here longer now there's a program that will talk about a little bit later and more in detail next year like academic center where specific groups of students are monitored for longer periods of time but in a general sense there is not Chrysler morning program do if your students are able to join us for breakfast and participate in that they're welcome to come earlier in the morning and there is minimal supervision there while they're eating we do make sure that. I think so 7:45 is when that starts sincerely we also have a one-to-one program for Chromebooks let me survey Dior 1 we all of your students that some of them may not have come when they came to us today to visit Westborough I asked them if they had Chromebooks and most of them said yes don't worry though if they're coming to us and they don't have a Chromebook or they're coming from a school outside of Art will make sure that they do have a Chromebook and then we are using online Creek them and Google Classroom as primary modes with our students so prepare for that of course their textbooks available as needed but it is going to be important that you and your sooner comfortable with Google Classroom learning Infinite Campus and then also working with the curriculum logins and things like I excel and different programming that we use online okay all right mr. Morgan take it away tell everybody I'm back again mr. Morgan is one thing I'm going to put it on tonight just do the expectation I assume you guys already had middle schoolers with this might be your first time one thing that we have definitely noticed in the last couple years is the social emotional peace and so we want to let you know we are focused on those restorative processes in if you look on the left you will see it looks like a poster every one of our classrooms has that and those for it these four words are important for us our Roar respect organization attitude and responsibilities and we really preach that to our students because of they I do this for things they will be successful at Westborough Dr Rossi does a morning announcement every morning she addresses that and so we kind of we kind of but we kind of want to say this we actually live by that and so we do we want to implement that with the kids and that they understand what it is if you look on the right side the PBIS positive behavioral interventions and supports you know like I just mentioned the restorative process we also want to reward the students to so you know Miss Walton talk about that in just a little bit but we have a behavior Matrix about the expectations about what respect looks like in the classroom what organization attitude and responsibility looks like in the classroom in the end you are in the cafeteria the blacktop walking to the Halls I'm a good guy to keep them on Pace School handbooks with your students being 6th graders they'll get a copy but you also get an electronic when I think one thing we can all talk about right now is the electronic policy you know we do have to go guardianship you can monitor what we asked you guys as parents to help us monitor as well because we do no kids have access to a lot of things right now we want to make sure that stuff are looking at is appropriate dress code I'll talk more about in August when when you guys will remember if I started dressing right now you definitely won't forget it the next one is a big one and we've noticed this from our sixth graders this year they've they don't really know what the definition of a closed campus yet so let me clarify that for you guys when your student either walks on campus they walked are Houston and they step on Westborough campus or you drop them off on the blacktop they cannot leave the campus until the end of school day so when we seen this year is where a parent will drop a student off and they want to walk down to West the park or they want to walk up to 7-Eleven with their friends and you know last thing we want to do is dr. Rossi or myself we don't want to get a call or you tell us you dropped off your son or daughter at school and we haven't seen them because they went to the park for the day or to 7-Eleven so please help us out with that as I did mention about the roar respect organization attitude and responsibilities we do provide planners and like dr. Rossi said there's going to be a lot of movement they're changing classes a lot more teachers a lot more kids they're accustomed to right now in the transition from elementary school to Middle School can meet up so we do pray the planner and then that planner there be an organizational to kind of keep them on track some students are already really organized and then you know we still have people that still need to be organized today that could be 7th or 8th grade so it takes time they're also behavioral expectations in discipline policies your attendance policies are in there as well and then the easy form to be on a checking with the teacher I will go over more of the discipline piece of it and all that in hiking my name is Miss Walton Robina Walton I am the kind of stuff last names a through laam my name is of the alphabet a little bit more of what we count do so we support in transitions in going from elementary to middle school we also support going transition from 8th grade into height although we have our tour orientation and then we also have the high school counselors coming in so we support and transitions in that sense but we also support from like 6th grade 7th grade and 7th to 8th grade we also have costumes the weeper that an adviser says whether it's me or miss Moulton or we have our advisory reps to lessen based on our pdas so some of these can be around social media respect and study we also provide academic and social emotional support for our Westborough students and ultimately we work with you all as guardian parents and families teachers administrators and students to ensure that your students needs are being met here at Westborough to support them in the best pastor you all weekend a year is our sample schedule for this school year it might look different next school year so a day and be day we haven't ate a BJ's is somewhere you go to one set of classes a day then the next day you'll go to a different type of classes for bday and I'll try each day so pretty sample this start off in PE then they go to lunch then advisory then science and language arts then the next day they will go to their elective class which he'll talk more about electives in a little bit na lunch advisory social and language arts do they have math everyday and language arts every day for this year and all the other classes are every other day they also have advisory everyday but that may look different depending on the schedule that we don't know yet so here are our electives currently for a 6th grader so we have a computers and our rotation so they will go one semester in computers and then they'll take the next semester in art or they'll start an r and then the next semester in computers we also have for it which is our choir program so that is a year-long course our Band program which is also your lockers and Leadership leadership requires the specification in the beginning of we're so in leadership Essentials Porter school by making posters for hallways doing different kinds of fun project planning school events and helping out in school event today the leadership students helped out a lot in our towards in Ark orientation hear it whisper we have a lot of clubs we have so far Art Club Yu-Gi-Oh Club Harry Potter Planeteers Emma Club chest Pub and Grill to code and also if a student has an idea for their own family don't see here at the school year they can start their own we also have some exciting school programs you have Honor Society your tutoring featuring happens in academic center with starts in September we have full band program technology program the Helix top for the eighth grade geography bee many courses are in our program science fair intramurals ASP grade level Ace B and academic center where like I said before the starts in September and they can come to school and for an hour after school three days a week I'll write every month we've got some important support staff in the office that we want to have you think about a know a little bit before you join us in we all miss Melanie Eisen she's on my side of the office and she's my executive assistant but she's also the house assistant sorry I'm struggling with this tickle all right so she will help your student if they have unfortunately like a headache or need to turn in information from a doctor for vaccines or something and she'll assist you if you decide to shop volunteer for us to those kinds of really important roles and then we have Miss Fernando in the center here she works closely with mr. marzan and Miss Walton and she'll work with your student special picture day and to help them with their ID cards to assist if they need copies of their grades or anything like that if if they want to make an appointment with a counselor she can also a system so she's kind of our counseling and registrar support you may need her if you're looking for an official transcript things like that she's also often greeting those those that come into the office cuz her desk is closest to the door and then we have Miss Lorna Fontana and she is on the attendance and gizzards inside she's also an important person to know if I have a doctor's appointment or if you're traveling or something and you need to let the school know that she will be working with you she also assisted mr. Morgan and I would discipline so for in a situation together we need to support a student whose made a poor choice or not Dalton something she will support us with some of the logistics there and then he was currently our campus security person we usually have one campus security person at Westborough who assist mr. Morgan and I am keeping the campus safe for your students very friendly very supportive and looks to make sure that the locker rooms are supervised and that the campus is safe and there's no one unexpected joining us and if they are that we figure out who they are quickly and do what we need to do to a contain the situation still Barton Road and now I get to go over the limit on a sixth grade teachers some of you so you might have people you might know some of them and some of our new we have Mr where he's at one of her Ela teacher mr. fire mr. frisbee are currently our PE teachers as somebody all know mr. fur is retiring so that said Miss Barry is science Mister Vina is social studies social studies and Ela I Miss Benson is another new Ela teacher we have this year mislim is our art teacher mr. Aquino does math and Technology Miss Millie is Matt missed a law is Matt leadership and then Mr cabrol with all your kiddos got to see today they performed a little bit as our new music teacher a second page of teachers as well Miss Rose isn't that specialist mr. Brie as a math resource specialist Miss Tomas of the Ed specialist El Campo is a net specialist as well and then miss James and Ela resource specialist we have a in preciosa Fabrice is also dead specialist the other three people that aren't pictured mr. Gonzalez he's our school psych Miss Freeman is the speech and then text Ellen does our library and Media Tech this is the one where we definitely need your help traffic is heavy at times if you have any kiddos already at Westborough we know how Westborough can be to drop off in the pickup process there are mats link there we will also go over it again we'll eat when we have you guys in the beginning of August but if you're familiar you pull out to the black toddlers cones that lead you along the fence just make sure you follow accordingly we do have you know we do have students and staff for for Traffic Control massage do you like dr. Rossi said in our in our traffic into we're like lime green or like a yellow vest to keep you guys in line make sure we do things in Coeur d'Alene at the end of the day massage headlines you up and pretty young again it's pretty full but when preparing to do a pretty good job with that the one area that I asked you when we struggle with it sometimes it's please don't stop and drop your kids off Westborough Boulevard it's a huge safety concern you can be ticketed and we don't want that there's not a laying there to drop off there is a pedestrian gate where kids come in and sometimes parents think it's a good idea to drop off there but that that does not it's not say there's not a lying there or laying there and cars get really close to our kids and I don't want to have to be the one to call you or call an ambulance because we had a bad accident right there on Westborough Boulevard some tips as we've all seen this year we've got a lot of rain so I right early especially on this rainy days maintain a slow speed because we do have 480 some students walking and then sometimes that carp that caught we have a lot of carpooling off-site pick up some people do pick up at the park some people drop off up on calendar at at 11 because they're going to go there so just think about that a couple things to four. Alright so I'd Middle School like I briefly touched on the breakfast program that starts at 7:45 you offered lunch they are free currently to South Africa Unified School students students will be asked to use an ID card which is essentially their fall picture and then their ID number for the district and they can scan it they can also use it to get equipment how much time to play with if you are interested in an additional meal for your student or a bank of meals because they might like multiple entrees you can go ahead and sign up for that through the district website using the link provided on the slide deck and then I'll so you can go to the nutritions page for the district's website it is important if you can to go ahead and fill out an application online for the meals and we will do you sign promoting of that at the beginning of the year next and it's really helpful for the school in the district because it's connected to funding so I will again I'll message you through our Wildcat weekly and other modes to make sure that you're aware that it would be helpful if you can complete the application regardless of okay thank you so we offer a lot of intervention and support at Westborough we have a garden and parent virtual conferences are in early October which is a little elementary schools teachers we have response intervention called RTI program we make sure we keep up with the grades of everyone in and make sure we offer support to those who need it most of the students of Texas team was SS team meeting offer some help if there is any I got an academic where behavioral struggles and we help them support them in that we have academic center paper tutorial what you talked about earlier school by PBS program so basically we want to reward our the good behavior of the students especially when they're helping around the school so for me I supervise a lot at lunch along with mr. marzan and we and I will give students a call ticket apart apart Aurora ticket if they pick up the same piece of trash that is not theirs and they'll get that and for that and teachers may give it to them if they will help them out and so they can Rose Park tickets into in for rewards so we have backpacks we have In and Out Burger coupons we have pom pom so it's really fun grasshopper academic counseling work with teachers come to a big hamburger teachers contacted via email and Google classroom and more on our anniversary sport we do have mental health supports your at Westborough so there is youth Service Bureau switches are school safety Advocate which is another person on-site who does individual counseling or group counseling with students so we have two groups running this school year have a girl's United and the Congress we also support me in this Walton as a school counselor support social emotionally as well as other individual doing any conflict resolution or trust processing with student as well and then carrisal this is something that we offer which is a concierge to help you get more mental health support outside of us and we also do offered a break which is virtual counseling for your students at Westborough outside of school hours all right so one shift is at your students will have PE lockers every soon as required to have a PE locker where they can keep a set of shoes and clothes make sure that they are able to do you know sweat indifference items that they can then wash on a regular basis and not wear the same clothes that they would then go to class in they will be expected to manage a lock and keep that lock for all three years the p teachers do a fantastic job training them and getting them comfortable with using it and understanding the expectations still more to come in the fall and then book lockers at West are actually optional similar to the high school play the students interested and excited about having a book Locker we will send information out at the end of August early September will be assigned Locker same thing they will get one lock issues from us they may have to buy replacement lock they lose it they will use the same Locker 3 years sometimes they like to give it to their best friend so they're best friends know the combination but in Middle School often best friends can kind of changed so we tell our students not to share the locks are the locker combinations with anyone since it does need to stay private 3 years and then please know if there's a bad smell coming from a locker or there's something to get worried that there might be something in the locker that should be in there we do have the right to inspected and to upkeep it and to make sure there's nothing dangerous to students going on and we will again give you a kind of a rundown of the contract that you and your student will need to sign if you do out for a book Locker at Westborough a lot of the kids get excited they like to decorate inside I will give you some tips for that to you but some stew don't want you to tional just responsibility and and don't see it as as necessary so it's really up to your student and and what you look like all right so we are going to give you a virtue bookstore since you are not able to get on campus with your students today I do want to call out that this was designed a couple years ago so the staff names are out of date we do have a current back-to-school night slide deck on our website if you would like to know this year's sixth grade team and other teachers at our site and then it we will update a back-to-school night at program in the fall and you obviously need your students p.m. at conferences as well if so please understand some of the staff names are just out to date but the the virtual at orientation at self-report or is actually very nice at the campus and our leadership students help us with this virtual tour video for all of those unable to experience with a w when does virtual tour informational start explain on the map is the Tory what is the fata Guardians can drop you off and pick you up volleyball best clothes before things start after party in the boys locker room talk to the band room what is the bedroom music and there you will also find three series that leads to the main building select stairs to the office to the mer music room Amer is for lunch Frehley's assemblies PE cafeteria Recycling and excetera are anacker as you enter the office me see Austin and their staff members all around whatever you need as you look around the office after the vice principal and principle of boxes and the door next to that is another Chancellor's office as you leave don't forget to say how to spell this is the main hallway of wwms it is shaped like a u on both sides even though the Rite Aids on the left a fresh Talent is from 10 to 24 hit it right is a little scary which is down to the patio and to the left is the exit leading to the 70's on the next hallway is from 31 to 44 is the library which was 14 in the library we check out books using our student ID there are also copy machines which are used to make copies booster and documents occasionally you will need to check out books Ela class all right is the farthest exit to the patio and to the left is another exit 270 to win the last hallway is from 51 to 63 and 54 is the art class what is a dancer how far is Carpentersville are there more outside after passing the strongest coffee this is one of the entrances to the school and the elephants may not entrance for the 7th grade Honor Society control we hope you enjoy this virtual tour video and I'll have a better understanding ending of a school campus thank you for watching Wildcats all right you did such a good job move on to the next line please I always get tripped up on that there we go alright mr. with a mr. Martin yeah yeah so talking about how you can support your student when they come to Westborough so Play Milk what's really important to model, so naturally your house will be not a little nervous when they enter middle school but that's okay allow your students make mistakes so we are not expecting Perfection so we like the perm a growth mindset we think of more of progress versus Perfection and trying not to schedule their non-school time with a bunch of activities cuz they still need time to be kids they're still growing and working your child teachers to support them so well that means like reaching out to their teachers that are available by email they'll likely reach out to you or taking over the counselors as well cuz we want to support you and your child when they're here at Westborough and volunteering at Westborough or for the UTSA and then also to check their daily planner to keep up with the thymus and due date there's also the parent feature on Google Classroom where you can see their assignments and any assignments up there missing we like to use infinite campus as well to support that so then you'll see what they're learning in the assignments that they have turned in all right you mr. marzan so there are a number of opportunities and ways for you to get involved it is different than Elementary School and it will feel that way we do need you to kind of communicate with us and and take advantage of the opportunities that come about and one of those things we have do you have a strong tpsa at Westborough in fact it's one of my favorite teachers because students are really involved so students attend each meeting teachers and parents it it's not just parents and me sitting around very cool mist at Sahara Stephanie you probably know her very well as she is continuing as our president for next year we're excited and then miss a currently Miss Michelle I'm a vice-president we're looking at different positions that need to be filled as well this year so I have a couple slides after that I'll go over with you around ttsa and some of the cool things we do it Westborough specifically we also have School site Council I don't know if that's new to some of you but it's an important group of parents teachers and students as well and then we look more at our strategic plan which is called the steps of single plan for student achievement and how we're tying our resources to that plan to show progress on our goals those goals are usually tied to the district's priorities as well as the El Cap and then of course our progress on State Testing so if you're interested if you've been involved or if you want to get involved in something like that please email or call me we actually have openings for next I would love to welcome you that way and have you drive me to Jump Right In And Then There are going to be opportunities like I said and we need you to reach out and let us know when you're interested there will be chaperoning opportunities for field trips if you're interested in supporting the the students and our security with traffic circle monitoring we could definitely use the additional support it gets really busy in the mornings and after school and then supervision duty at sometimes we can use support at lunch so if you have extra time or if you're working from home and you can create a little bit more school schedule for yourself and you'd like to get involved please reach out and let us know we'd love to welcome you at Westborough for in terms of pts a is a annual color the kids love it it's something the staff is involved into and it raises a good amount of money for TSA and even for the site and then also the craft fair so we've only done it twice but we've been such good results each time a really hoping to make it a regular I think for our community and it is open to the whole Community Pie it's really need to see are different teachers and and family members and vendors who come from the community to share and it's got a Halloween themed Halloween holiday theme Christmas more of a theme to it so that's always wonderful to just see the celebration and just kind of have that there for everybody and then do it again it's a large group of parents and teachers and students that come together we really want to rebuild community specially after the pandemic and get to know everyone involved in the decision-making process but also just enjoying being together for 3 years it goes quick so we meet on the second Wednesday of each usually from 6:30 to 7:30 or 8 and we have a meeting in person when we can a lot of things have been virtual this year will probably do a hybrid for convenience and and to get more people involved as we need and then here ways to get involved I'm going to move my visual icon again cuz there's a QR code I will also have this on the website for you the the slide deck but here are some other things taken involved in and here's our new lineup for next year so we are going to have a few changes but we're also looking for a few there's open positions the historian membership and parliamentarian so if you would like more information or want to get involved right away please reach out to Pete say or let me know and I can support you with that as well okay, here's our basic contact information you can find it on the website that may number is you know you can Google it or find it on our website I will stay there good information on the new website for Westborough but it is fairly stagnant it's not something to be put on regular updates regular updates will come to you through school messenger and remind and primarily a once-a-week i do a wildcat weekly so when you get into our system and your your you joined us for the year you'll start to get more information via the school messenger Wildcat weekly and then also through text messages that we do to the remind app did you got in mind for next year but if you have questions after this presentation you want to email one of us directly please do we are going to open it up now you the questions that you have please know that they'll be an additional orientation meeting in Oz it's that will go into specifics about what next year schedule and certain things look like and then please also know that if you have questions that relate to your child or your children in particular and probably not something we want to discuss in front of everyone so we can arrange it and to answer your question or communicate through email or phone but this is more for general questions about Westborough okay so I'm going to go ahead and just open it up I don't know Miss Walton mr. marzan mr. Morgan have you seen any is there any prepping yeah there's a question on enrollment day so if your student is one from our feeder schools they are automatically enrolled into Westborough but there is just like an annual update in the beginning of the school year on it campus just to make sure your information is correct but they are automatically rolled over to Westborough do I see a question about iup support we have case managers that will reach out to you at the beginning of the year and schedule and he wasn't introduced themselves I'm hopeful that you'll get to meet at least one representative in the transition meetings between 5th grade students to a Grace unit are you know so we do have those transition meetings coming up in April you may not meet your exact case manager but she will need a representative of the department yes the first day of school is already August 8th Starry Night Beyblade at that Wednesday yes cuz the 7th is a Monday yeah so I believe it's that it is the night scuba Council thank you for asking that. I hope you're interested I'll be doing them virtually and we usually hold them on the 2nd or the 3rd Wednesday of each month or public already you can see them on our calendar we had one today and their virtual I'm there from 3:30 to 4:30 good question about SamTrans it really depends on the need this year we did not have much support for it we just didn't have a large group of students at this France created the schedule for could be fully you filled out the survey we asked our students to fill out the survey our families so that will inform the district so they can work with Sam trans to make sure there's a good plan in place so we do have the 122 bus that stops right on Callen Street Street which is a block away I know some students to take it regularly to get to school and to go home so there is that I don't know if it serves any Elementary close but that is the closest bus line to thank you are asking about class times right now class starts at 8 25 ends at 3 for days a week and then this morning and the label starts at 8:25 and they get out at 2 cuz of the collaboration day Steve Schmidt leadership programs we do we currently have a leadership elective for 6th grade and then one for 7th and 8th grade great questions you guys is also question will the campus be open house for the parents were they can come check out the campus classrooms and teachers we have not done and in person open house in a while I we usually do a back to school night with his teachers produce a video and they publish that and it stays on her website all year you can actually see this year's and kind of see what that looks like and you get to hear from us and and when we do have events through the year where we do art shows and Saint programs and different things like that so we will be offering and we do spelling bees and things of that nature will be offering different events for parents can come but if open house we don't currently that's usually done in the spring as well we do a back to school night but we don't do an open house and at our site what's another great question about uniforms we do not require uniforms I know Al Salam we do but we don't actually require uniform to Westborough so we did answer question before if your student is already early in our district there is no formal enrollment there already just naturally rolled over there are there's information sent out about your annual updates where you can update in the emergency information make sure that we have your vaccination information things like that but there is not an actual formal enrollment and then in August when we do our Fall Orientation you have the option of coming and your students have the option of touring the school and you'll get even more detailed information that way and then we send messaging out to you in the fall we don't send a summer mail your mailer we will start sending emails through school messenger and remind probably in like obviously before those so probably a couple weeks before August 9th yeah so we don't offer parents to go with their students we do create more of an orientation for students that kind of bonsai and connect but we do offer an orientation for parents and if there is a separate reason why you want to be on campus or see something we can always arrange that we miss anything else there was a question about do teachers coordinate homework because of schedules no did they try to moderate how much their scheduling and what not but there's no formal coordination process that's great question though currently Tuesday Thursday Friday like the late Bell is 8:25 and the kids get out at 3 on Wednesdays they start at 8:25 and get out at 2 I think Jace was more than NFL football but other great question parent was asking their child's and inter-district transfer when will they find out if he is going to Westborough I know they're working through guy I dealt with I talked to the DL yesterday and they're working through a big stack of inter-district transfer so that question be more food for them when we get across our desk that's when we'll get it sorry we don't have that no yeah and yes I did double check it is the 9th so Wednesday the 9th will be the first day of classes that's fast huh I feel like every year you can go ahead and Google the calendar at for next year if you would like already to have that it's it's under calendars on the south San Francisco Unified School District and then it says 42 new calendar 2324 and that will help you to see the days if you'd like so that's a great question about the clubs and the event it really is specific and so what we do in the fall is in September we do is call the club rush and students kind of go around a look at Honor Society they live in. invited to and that's the one that does more of the trips and then Band program often does field trips and so does leadership and then our other clubs are more kind of case-by-case but your students would see what they want to get involved in and then they will get some of that information while they're in there and not elective and then that's when they would realize it's if it involves the field trip or not yes Infinite Campus is where you're going to do your annual Reggie update great question yes Infinite Campus and Google Classroom are now your best friends as well as your email because we will be sending like weekly updates as to what's going on through the school we do have 8th grade promotion on campus this year and everybody's really excited because on May 26th at 12:30 is going to be the first one back on campus in a long time so we're actually really excited about that it is held and you are so it's a little piece of History Westboro so we're pretty excited I know there's no need to pay for clubs sometimes there are fundraisers that clubs doing so students will want resources for that and then I think I caught something about uniform so there are guidelines on what students should wear for PE but it's more like Ray sweat pants and black T-shirt stuff like that it's not a specific uniform now with that said leadership will sell so they can have their Westborough gear and then there classes like there a 3 class will sell sweatshirts or t-shirts and that's all part of the promotion of raising money to be able to do their eighth grade trip in their eighth grade promotion and when so you can choose to participate her or not yes I'll buy you can definitely make your own club what you would do in that case as you would go through Club Rush assess if there was not a club that matched your interest and then you would be heading to find other students that want to join the club and then you would find a teacher that would support it and then you can propose it to ASP to have it was called the charter established and once you have the sign off for all of that you're good to go great question and will review all this with students in the fall with a club Rush is a whole big thing just like it's a high schools great questions ever fun lunch options in terms of meals if you're asking of meals that's usually sent out by the district's through peachjar and it's on the nutritions website we do try to post them on Wii access to them other deathly posted by the actual lunch line in the MU are for students to review but it's more kind of a district-wide menu not a site-specific 4 minutes between each class early and then then the break in between lunch is 5 and then sport wise do you want to speak to that doctor ask your gummy to explore wise we don't have sports they do intramurals at lunch there is there is something we haven't done since covid and that's where we have try school where we compete against Alta Loma and Parkway and hopefully we'll be going to reintroduce that next year but it has not been ballast in a few years so as of right now no we partner with the Boys & Girls Club they do end Parks and Rec and so they do you have offerings and we'll come onto our campus to basically promotes their program and we give them a space to do that because we don't have an after-school sports program so your students will have access to a community resources for sports and then at we do have a wrestling club at Westborough but that's it for now so if you're interested in starting a sports club or running club or something like that you can always reach out to me as well make it see if we can make that happen baby funny great any other great question well we look forward to meeting you all in person in the fall I'm holding our next orientation so we can answer more even more specific questions in the meantime please reach out to us and we can make sure that we answer any specific questions that you might have we don't want you ruminating over them this whole summer at the Middle School's we do have a couple the main one is for well it's an online curriculum without these I excel and it's kind of a depending on whether your student 6th 7th and 8th grade has a mean trick them and then we also have an algebra curriculum and there is tutoring to Academic Center so we'll give information to your students about that in the fall if we talked about if the dad is an hour after school or they get some support specifically on academics and we do offer my support currently and then kind of a subject support and there are pure tutors at work in our eighth grade Honor Society that support student so kind of an internal program that we do offer so that should give you a little bit of support your student little bit of support in math great question right on the end go to go to their will repeat all of this again in the fall and we will post this information for you but again if you start having specific questions that cause any concern or you just really need to know feel free to reach out to us I'd rather you get your information now than wait until August okay thanks for taking the time to join us to have a wonderful rest of your evening and I can't wait to welcome your Wildcats they're all right take care everyone bye thank you everybody thank you everyone
