Promotion

As 8th grade students enter their last year at Westborough Middle School, we expect each student to continue demonstrating good behavior, attendance, and study habits. It is tempting for students in this final year to lose focus, but there can be consequences.

 

Poor grades, attendance, behavior/safety concerns, or a combination can lead to students missing out on some or all of the 8th grade promotion activities. We want our students to finish strong and feel ready when they start high school the following year.

 

Towards the beginning of each school year, we send out a letter outlining the minimum requirements for promoting from Westborough Middle School. Please discuss these guidelines with your child and return a signed a copy of the letter. 

 

In the Spring Semester, we will begin working with any 8th grade student who is showing signs of struggle. It is our goal to see all 8th grade students promote.
